Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is suitable for everyone, children, the elderly and everyone in between. Plant medicine manages to be both gentle in its approach and powerfully potent in its outcomes. As a medical herbalist, I am trained to treat each patient as an individual. Rather than treating a set of presenting symptoms, herbal medicine endeavors to find the root cause of the problem and bring the body back into a state of balanced homeostasis.
The herbal medicines are made bespoke for the unique needs of the patient. Tinctures, tonics, teas, capsules, creams and balms may be prescribed as needed. Tinctures are the backbone of my herbal pharmacy. Whole plant medicine is used rather than standardised extracts. The medicines are either sustainably sourced, homegrown or foraged, guaranteeing the highest quality of product.

What to expect at a consultation?
An initial consultation takes approx 90 minutes. I take a full case history, diving deep into what is happening, past medical conditions, diet and lifestyle.
Post consultation you will be given an independent tailored treatment plan. This will likely involve diet and lifestyle recommendations as they are key pivotal parts of healing. A bespoke herbal remedy will be prescribed and dispensed, usually in the form of a tincture but may also be a tea, tonic, capsule, ointment or cream.
A follow up consultation of 45 minutes usually occurs 2 - 4 weeks post the initial consultation to check in on how you are and how you are getting on with the herbal medicines and any other recommendations.
Further follow up consultations may be necessary depending on the nature of the condition. The number and frequency will be discussed at the initial consultation.
Consultations take place at my clinical practice beside the South Downs. There are opportunities for consultations to take place in the apothecary garden depending on the weather. The apothecary garden is a beautiful place to discuss all aspects of your health and to meet and understand the plants.
Walking consultations are offered where appropriate. Making the most of the multifold health benefits of walking in nature and encouraging an opportunity to discuss aspects of health and wellness in a less formal setting. Taking strides into your healing journey.
